SublimeSecond-Hand Smoke (2LP, Gatefold, Explicit Content), Black Vinyl

Not a traditional album—more like a final snapshot.

Released in '97 after the loss of Bradley Nowell (R.I.P.), Second-Hand Smoke pulls together unreleased tracks, remixes, dubs, and alternate versions that round out the Sublime story. It’s scattered by design—but that’s part of what makes it work.

You get different sides of Sublime all in one place—ska, punk, reggae, hip-hop influence—sometimes polished, sometimes rough. Tracks like “Doin’ Time,” “Saw Red,” and “April 29, 1992 (Leary)” anchor it, while the deeper cuts and dub versions show how much range Sublime actually had.

This isn’t the cleanest listen—that’s not the point. It feels like digging through tapes, hearing ideas in different forms, and catching moments that didn’t make the main records. (There a some great Sublime bootlegs out there, too).

Pressed as a Double LP in a Gatefold, this version gives it space to breathe and makes it feel like more than just a compilation.

Why this belongs in your collection:
Because it’s the one of the last pieces of the Sublime (Bradley Newell Era) story—unfinished, raw, and real.
