Run the Jewels – Run the Jewels (10th Anniversary Edition) (2LP, Colored Vinyl, Gatefold, w/ Instrumentals)
When this dropped, in Atlanta, during 2013, it never felt like a side project—it felt immediate. Run the Jewels came out of nowhere and hit with a statement: sharp, loud, and completely locked-in.
El-P brings that industrial, blown-out production—cold drums, distorted edges—while Killer Mike matches it with pure, straight force. Their chemistry is the whole point. Back-and-forth, no wasted space, both pushing the other the entire album.
Tracks like “36” Chain,” “Banana Clipper,” and “A Christmas F***ing Miracle” don’t just land—they smack. There’s humor, aggression, politics, and straight-up skill, and straigh bars at the same pace. It feels like an update of what made early hip-hop duos and crews work, just heavier and sharper.
This 10th Anniversary Edition does it right—double LP, split-colored vinyl, gatefold packaging, and the full instrumental version, included. We get the record and the raw production underneath it.
