This record was not supposed to exist like this—and that’s exactly why it matters.

Recorded in '88 at Chung King Studios, these sessions were originally meant to be Judge’s debut LP. However, the band wasn’t happy with the results—rushed studio time, rough conditions, and a sound that didn’t match what they were building. By the time they pulled the plug, but some copies were already in motion.

So Revelation Records pressed a small run anyway—turning it into Chung King Can Suck It. What followed was a re-recorded version (Bringin’ It Down), but this is the raw, original take.

You can hear it immediately—looser, rougher, and less polished, but still very heavy. Tracks like “Bringin’ It Down,” “Hold Me Back,” and “Give It Up” hit with that early crossover edge—hardcore pushing toward something darker and more metallic.

Coming out of the Youth of Today lineage, Judge took the straight-edge message and made it heavier, more confrontational, and more intense. This was a huge part of that shift.

This limited colored vinyl pressing keeps it in that collector space—less about perfection, more about capturing a moment that was almost erased.
