Iron Maiden hit a turning point with Fear of the Dark. Released in ’92, it came at a time when metal was shifting—but Maiden stayed the course.

It’s got that classic galloping energy, darker themes, and some of their most memorable moments from the era. The title track alone became a live staple, and you can hear why.

This was also the last album (for a while) with Bruce Dickinson before his return later on, which gives it a bit more weight, looking back.

“Be Quick or Be Dead,” “Afraid to Shoot Strangers,” “Wasting Love,” “Fear of the Dark”—all standouts. Not their earliest work, but still very much Iron Maiden doing what they do best.
